What we promise about the phone
Last updated 21 September 2026
A business phone has one job. Everything below exists because that job is the one most often failed: by outages nobody explains, by calls that never ring, by support that is a bot, and by a number the provider will not let go of. These are commitments about how dialredphone is built, not promises to try harder.
Your calls do not run through our dashboard
The audio of a call never passes through our web application. It goes from your browser to our telephone switch to the carrier, and that switch holds everything it needs on its own disk. If our website, our database or our AI is broken, a call that is already set up still connects, still rings your team and still goes to voicemail. This is the first line of our architecture document and the reason every other feature is built behind it.
The same rule applies to AI. Call notes and transcripts happen after a call has finished, from a recording. There is no path by which an AI feature can make your telephone worse, because nothing about it runs while you are talking.
We publish our uptime, minute by minute
Every minute, the machine carrying your calls checks whether the telephone switch is answering, whether our registration with the carrier is live, and whether the app responds. Those answers are published, unedited, at our status page, including every incident and how long it lasted. Gaps are shown as time we did not monitor rather than counted as uptime.
If something breaks, you will see it there before you have to ask us, and we will tell you what it was.
If your browser is not open, calls still reach you
A phone system that only rings inside an app fails the moment a notification does not arrive. dialredphone rings every browser signed in to your business, and if nobody answers within the time you choose, it rings an ordinary telephone number you nominate: your mobile, the office, whoever is on call. That forward happens on the telephone network, so it does not depend on a push notification, an app being awake, or your phone having a good connection. After that it takes a voicemail.
A person answers you, and it is one of the founders
There are two of us, and we read every message. Email support@redstonecastles.com and you get an answer from a founder the same day, not a bot, not a ticket number, and not a reply that asks you to try turning it off and on again. When we cannot fix something quickly we will say so and tell you what we are doing instead.
Your number is yours, and leaving takes one request
If you bring a number to dialredphone it stays yours, and if you decide to leave you can take it with you. We release a number to your new provider as soon as they ask for it. We will never hold a number while a support queue decides what to do, and we do not charge to let you go. Bringing a number in is free too, and we explain exactly how it works.
Your data leaves with you
Your contacts, your call history, your notes and your transcripts are yours. There is a button in Settings that downloads all of it as spreadsheets, any time, with no request to make and nobody to ask. A phone company that keeps your history hostage is relying on the cost of leaving rather than the quality of the service.
No surprise charges, no silent suspension
The only registration fees are the US carriers' own for texting, passed on at cost and shown before you agree to them. If we ever have to suspend an account, for fraud or for a regulator, you get told what happened and who to reply to, the same day, by a person.
We do not log you out
Your session stays signed in while you keep using it. Being logged out of your own telephone in the middle of a working day is not a security measure, it is a defect.
What we have not built yet
Being honest about this is part of the same promise. Today dialredphone does not have text messaging, a mobile app, international numbers, a fax line, or desk phone support. Text messaging and an iPhone app are what we are building next. If one of those is how your business runs, we would rather tell you now than take your money and disappoint you in a month.
We are a new and small company, which means two things honestly stated: you get the founders on the phone, and we have less history behind us than the companies we are competing with. The status page is there so that history is something you can check rather than something you have to take on faith.
