Bring your existing number

Last updated 20 September 2026

Keep the number your customers already know. Moving it to dialredphone is free, takes three to ten business days, and you are never without a working number.

How it works

  1. Sign up and pick any number. That number works in minutes and is yours until the move completes.
  2. Ask us to move your number from Settings. We check with the carrier that the number can be moved, then you fill in what your current provider will verify: the name on the account, the service address, the account number and PIN. Typing your name signs the letter of authorization.
  3. Your current provider approves it. They have three to ten business days. Keep paying them until then, and do not cancel the account first: a cancelled number cannot be moved.
  4. On the day it completes, calls to your number arrive at dialredphone with the same team, hours and recording settings you already set up. The temporary number is released.

What you need

  • The name on your current account, exactly as on the bill.
  • The service address on that account.
  • The account number, and the PIN if your provider uses one (mobile carriers and Google Voice do).
  • A recent bill, if you have one. Optional, but providers approve faster with it.

Which numbers can be moved

US local numbers from any carrier, including Google Voice, mobile carriers, RingCentral, Dialpad, Grasshopper and Quo. Toll-free numbers cannot be moved yet.

Moving from Google Voice

Unlock the number first in Google Voice (Settings, Phone numbers, Unlock). Google charges $3 to unlock a number that was originally theirs. There is no account number; the PIN is the one you set in Voice. Take a screenshot of the account page in place of a bill.

What it costs

Nothing. Your plan price does not change. Your old provider may charge an early-termination fee if you are under contract; that is between you and them.

If something goes wrong

Most rejections are a mismatch: a name, address or account number that differs from the provider’s record. We see the reason, fix what we can and contact you for the rest. Nothing is lost: your number stays with your current provider until the move is approved. Questions to support@redstonecastles.com.
